Why protect Canopy What can I do Campaigns 100 Trees project Blog Contact Resources Canopy keepers is a community group working towards the preservation and regeneration of Pittwater’s canopy Get in touch Here for the trees Tree canopy is formed by the upper layer of branches and leaves, rising from their main trunks. This crown cover reigns over the communities of animals and other plants that call it home. Canopy Keepers was formed in 2020 as an independent group to raise community awareness about the social, environmental and economic importance of trees to our area. We aim to increase local appreciation of the value of a healthy and strong canopy. We also lobby for changes to regulations and practices to protect and enhance it. Pittwater as a community is proud of its canopy but increasing urbanisation and development is placing it under threat. Please help us enliven our canopy-keeping culture! Join us today.
